PREDICTIVE SYSTEM FOR OPTICAL DEGRADATION IN LASER WELDING EQUIPMENT BASED ON EDGE COMPUTING TECHNOLOGY
Project Reference: AEI-010500-2022B-302
This project aims to develop and implement a predictive model using artificial intelligence and Edge Computing techniques to forecast the optical wear of welding tools in the manufacturing of automotive components. Several industrial, technological, and consulting companies are participating, combining knowledge and synergies to drive digital transformation with innovative technologies.
The project is based on the acquisition of data from periodic quality inspections of the components. The goal is to develop a predictive model capable of continuously and proactively detecting the degradation of optics and lenses in the laser welding system. Various data sources are used, including in-line optical inspection systems, dimensional measurements, hardness and tensile tests, and visual defect inspections conducted by operators.
This project has been supported by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism as well as the European Union through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. It has received funding from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism under the support program for Innovative Business Groups (AEIs) to contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of the Spanish industry.

ADAPTA – FLEXIBILITY IN INDUSTRIAL ROBOTICS
ADAPTA Flexibilization in industrial robotics: Application of Artificial Intelligence and Automatic Learning technologies for factories with high capacity for adaptation and resilience.
The main objective of ADAPTA is to conceive and implement a flexible and reconfigurable predictive model that provides factories with a high capacity for adaptation and resilience to changes in the environment. This general objective is supported by flexible robotic solutions that advance the knowledge of artificial intelligence and the use of digital infrastructures, and is materialized in 5 partial objectives:
- Improve the perception capabilities of robotic systems, both by measuring images and by monitoring contact in assembly and manipulation processes.
- Develop manipulation solutions that allow adaptation to unknown or changing situations with minimal human intervention.
- Accelerate the process of defining assembly and manipulation tasks using demonstration techniques.
- Contribute to the development of production systems based on open architectures, which consider the presence of human beings and the interaction with them.
- Enable digital infrastructures for interoperability, secure sharing, and data sovereignty throughout the life cycle of models.
BCNVISION Group participates in the 2023 AGRO-FOOD PERTE Project
BCN VISION SL is proud to participate in the FOODECO project, part of the Strategic Project for Economic Recovery and Transformation in the Agro-Food sector (PERTE AGROALIMENTARIO).
This ambitious project, carried out in cooperation with CARPISA FOODS SL, aims to drive digital and ecological transformation in the agro-food industry through the development and implementation of innovative solutions. The initiative focuses on improving production processes via automation and integration of advanced technologies, which is crucial for enhancing competitiveness and sustainability in the sector.
The project, titled “Strategic alliance of the agro-food sector for the complete renewal of its value chains”, had a total fundable budget of €776,571.50, of which €660,044.30 corresponds to BCN VISION SL. The grant received amounted to €330,002.00.
BCN VISION SL’s participation has been crucial for the digital transformation of the agro-food sector. Leveraging its expertise in machine vision, BCN VISION SL has led the development of an innovative system that enables the detection, classification, and quality control of both packaged and unpackaged agro-food products. This system, based on Deep Learning technologies, enhances product traceability and optimises production processes by integrating directly into manufacturing lines, ensuring greater efficiency and reducing human errors.
BCN VISION SL’s involvement has not only contributed to the project’s success but has also driven the adoption of advanced technologies in the agro-food sector, improving the competitiveness of companies that implement its solutions. This collaboration represents a crucial step towards a more sustainable and technologically advanced industry, capable of addressing quality, safety, and traceability challenges in a more efficient and automated way.
Optimization of Product Traceability and Land Logistics Route Management through Machine Vision and Data Science
Project Reference: AEI-010500-2022B-280
This project uses Deep Learning techniques to improve traceability and foreign object control in the pork meat industry. By analyzing meat trays after butchering, deep learning algorithms are applied to accurately identify the origin of the meat and detect the presence of any foreign objects. This technology helps optimize production processes by reducing reliance on manual inspections and improving efficiency in tracking the value chain.
The project has been supported by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism as well as the European Union through the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. It has received funding from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism under the support program for Innovative Business Groups (AEIs) to contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of the Spanish industry.
